A 'Substack' November
What you can expect for the next few weeks
Hello everyone. How’s things?
Okay, enough small talk - let us get to the point of this article: I really, really need to shift my focus.
Over the last few weeks (I could even say ‘months,’ truth be told) I have been struggling with balancing tangible life with Internet life, and within the latter balancing my social media involvement with the work I want to do here on the Substack.
And… of those last two? I have been giving my Substack the short end of the stick, channeling far too much energy into social; this must change. Since my ‘easily distracted’ reflex is notoriously strong (Squirrel!), and since social networks - especially TikTok - can get pretty ‘distracting?’

As such, I have decided to dedicate November to working entirely on this Substack page. All of my creative energies will be funneled into this venture, for a myriad of reasons. They include…
-- I am a writer, and - while enjoy making videos and audios - my primary drive must be toward writing. In truth I need to write, and this is the one place where I am free to to do so however, and about whatever, I desire.
-- Substack does not suppress links, or speech or reach; indeed, from what I can ascertain the algorithms here are activated based on likes, views, shares and subscribers. Attention (i.e. ‘reach’) is largely generated by the creator’s effort combined with the involvement of readers (see how critical you are!).
-- Nowhere else have I been given the opportunity to make money. While that has not happened to a great degree as yet (and thank GOODNESS for the paid members I do have- appreciate you more than you know), the fact that the potential is here means I need to give TO Substack what I want FROM it (which is part of Natural Law, after all).
-- I wish to develop the habit of always putting this site first, before other online considerations; not to go all ‘motivational poster’ on you, but good repetitions breeds good habits, and good habits breed good successes.
Based on those points, I will be pouring all of my creator-vibes into this site throughout November. TikToks will be limited to the occasional “On This Day” posts, with me sliding in from time to time to check out YOUR videos. My involvement with X / Twitter will be limited to me using it to look for news stories, and since Instagram is utterly useless for my needs that network is pretty much already dead to me.
And as for my time on Gab? Well, that honestly won’t change much. While Gab can be somewhat involved when you get noticed, I am currently sitting on 22 followers; as such, I am not yet all that noticed, hence involvement is already limited. The same is pretty much true of the Telegram channel as well, although I have become slightly more active there over the past week.
So if you are already a current subscriber, buckle up. There will be articles, photos, live chats (still working on the details of that), and maybe - just maybe - an occasional video or audio exclusive. I may be a writer first, but I cannot completely abandon all my hobbies, now can I?
‘All work and no play,’ as the old saw goes…
