One of the purveyors of WEF-rubberstamped propaganda - the always suspect CNBC - recently released two coinciding lists. One was dedicated to the ‘best states’ in which to live and work, while the other targeted what they considered ‘the worst.’
To say that a bias was, ‘boldly on display,’ would be giving the word ‘understatement’ a gentle hug.
The network’s ‘methodology’ for what constitutes a super-fantastic place to plant your roots is, of course, highly subjective. While wages, crime rates, and environment were included as part of the determinations, there were also some… let’s call them ‘dubious’ considerations.
Here is one example; from ‘the best’ article…
Life, Health and Inclusion is among the ten categories of competitiveness in CNBC’s annual America’s Top States for Business study, and under this year’s methodology, it is increasingly important in a state’s overall ranking.
Inclusion? Well, if that isn’t a word packed with all forms of broad interpretations these days.
Does that mean equality of opportunity… or the much-uglier ‘equity?’ Will your children be fostered in encouragement-rich classrooms while protected from K-12 indoctrination… of will your junior-high-school daughters be showering in locker-rooms with biological males?
And how do they define ‘Health?’ Is it based on what is most affordable-yet-competent, or how easy it is to either get an abortion for yourself OR a sex-change for your toddler? Because knowing the criteria behind their assessments is vital, especially when dealing with patented nonsense.
The writer of both pieces, Scott Cohn, does not directly answer such questions with a specific interpretation of either word… but we can gather his bent, by reading the breakdown of each state.
I’ll put it this way: If you are a person whom believes in traditional values? Perhaps Mr. Cohn is not your best resource for relocation ideas.
The ’best’ list included places that few of those who love Liberty would rush to claim as their own, amongst which being Massachusetts, Minnesota, and New Jersey. Yes, you read that correctly - NEW JERSEY. Furthermore (you’re not going to believe this), it was ranked as the third best state.
Why, you may ask? Because of vital values like reproductive rights (abortion) and allowing children to attend drag shows, of course, which (at least with the former) the Garden State apparently protects vigorously. After all, such considerations are critical to a strong business climate and raising a growing family.
Yeah… I assume you can see where this is going.
They also claim that the Jersey of New is one the safest states, according to FBI crime data; this only makes me (further) question the integrity of FBI statistics… because seriously? New Jersey?
To be fair, there were a couple of options in the ‘best of,’ I would consider. For all its Leftist leanings, Vermont is beautiful AND has strong second-amendment traditions, while if you look at the northern and western parts of Colorado you are living amongst good people and beautiful country. But the rest of them… yeah, not for me, no offense intended toward those who might disagree.
Then there are the ten ‘worst of’ states. Care to guess how Mr. Cohn and the CNBC Indoctrination Team broke those down?
Texas and Florida bookended the list, with the former considered THE worst; I reckon someone should tell all those folks who are moving to both of these locales, because they apparently didn’t get this critical memo. Alabama and Tennessee were thrown in as well, because of course they were, but it was #6 which got me riled up: My home state, Missouri.
From the article-in-question…
The Show Me State is showing abortion opponents the way. In 2019, the state became the first to enact a so-called “trigger law,” which went into effect moments after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022… Also, Missouri’s violent crime rate is among the nation’s highest.
Receiving an ‘F’ grade, we were also dinged because of ‘voting rights;’ this was surprising to me, since I have never heard of a single person not having the ‘right’ to vote here. ‘Air quality’ was listed as a strength, which I can attest is indeed quite pleasant, but that was the only positive given.
And as to ‘crime’ being an issue? Well, if we could eliminate one of the most rigidly-Left cities in the world (St. Louis), along with my drifting-far-too-far-into-Leftist-territory-for-years home area (Kansas City), Missouri would have one of the lowest crime rates on Earth.
Hmm. There’s probably a lesson there.
But you know something? Now that I think about it, I honestly do not want people who would give any credibility to Mr. Cohn’s assertions to live here anyhow. Between the two aforementioned cities we already have plenty of toxic ‘Globalist energy’ fouling up the good vibes we have going - we really do NOT need anymore of that toxicity.
So yeah, if you love and trust CNBC as a news source, you should listen to Mr. Cohn and stay far away from Missouri. Trust me, you would hate it here.
No, seriously… stay away.

Whenever I read one of those "poles" I have to chuckle a bit. If they are nothing else, they are consistent with their bias. All states have their problems but as you pointed out I'll gladly stay where they would rather not be.
