Prime Cut: Our Broken Congress

The fight for AM [Photo: Stephen Andrews on Unsplash]

The inability to pass the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act is a lesson in just how utterly incompetent our Congress has become.

Perhaps it has always been this way.

Now, before you give in to your impulse to roll your eyes at my obsession with this particular piece of legislation, that is not what this is about. Yes, I know I have written of it ad nauseum, but only because I think it is critical to the interests of those who wish to live local…

AM radio IS necessary for disseminating information. While cell towers are now prolific they do not provide anywhere near 100% coverage, meanwhile you would be hard pressed to find a plot of land anywhere in America that does not receive some form of AM broadcast signal. In that vein, cell technology is still not foolproof - in fact, it can be terribly un-reliable - so the vitality of AM radio cannot be cavalierly dismissed.

There are also the needs of smaller, more-rural communities to consider. AM radio stations are relatively inexpensive to operate compared to FM stations, and eliminating AM radios from cars would be an additional step in wiping out local radio concerns. This would essentially reroute the information pipeline into channeling non-stop Federalized propaganda to those communities, cutting citizens off from diverse local opinions and important news updates.

That could, in turn, serve to further drain those communities of identity and resources and people, helping to ‘encourage’ residents to move to larger - dare I say ‘15 minute’ - cities. Ever remember, every action must be viewed through the scope of the Globalist Agenda, and ‘rural living’ has been under assault by those serving that Agenda for decades.

Indeed, the bill in its current incarnation (they had to do a proverbial ‘do-over’), was re-introduced in the House of Representatives in February. Since then it has garnered 311 co-sponsors, which puts support well past the threshold necessary to guarantee passage in that body. The previous bill had also surpassed the required thresholds in BOTH chambers, and yet… nothing.

A slam-dunk, bipartisan bill which has very little opposition, one which would benefit us American commoners greatly… literally, nothing.

So what is the hold-up? As it is not one of those flashy bills which drives clicks, ad-dollars, and engagement, no news org or journalist has been all that interested in covering it (Sharyl Attkisson’s Full Measure program being the exception). As such, discovering why it has not already been passed is danged-near impossible.

So… we are left to speculate. Luckily for you, I can speculate like nobody’s business. It’s oft what I do here.

My gut tells me there is BigTech money behind its lack of movement. Remember, the reason the bill was proposed in the first place was due to the Electric Vehicle [EV] manufacturers claiming AM frequencies screw with the performance of their pro-Globalist monstrosities. So if the EV boys are using their lobbyists to twist an arm or two behind the scenes… the arms which carry the most DC influence?

That is definitely a possibility; in fact, when you consider all scenarios, I’d say it is the most likely.

So if a common-sense measure like this, one which has very broad support and will actually benefit the American people, can be held up indefinitely and covertly through influence-peddling… what does that say about the system under which we live? What does it say about our Congress.

To me, it says the House (and the Senate, too - let us not leave them out of this) is hopelessly broken. Corrupt, even. And I honestly do not know how to fix it, but it has become obvious we will never be able to ‘vote’ our way out of this quandary.

Other options need to be entertained - and we are running out of time to do so…
