Family of Ashli Babbitt Sues Feds [TDT: 02.01]
A relaunch of the Three-Dot Tablet, which also includes Disney woes, plastic foods, plus much more.
So, how about something new… and not.
Welcome to the relaunch of the Three-Dot Tablet [TDT], a weekly news-journal where we seek out the headlines others may not be covering and - with a healthy dose of passion, common sense, and brevity - provide raw, unfiltered commentary.
This is the beginning of a three-month test run, to see whether or not a weekly such as this fills a need here on Substack while still being engaging and entertaining. As such, feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below.
And now, without further delay, let’s talk about the news…
Ashli Babbitt's family files $30 million lawsuit over Jan. 6 shooting death
CBS News
Well, it’s about time…
In the lawsuit, which was filed Friday in federal court in Southern California, Babbitt's family claimed that she was unarmed and had her hands in the air when she was shot once by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd.
That is because this is exactly what happened, with one minor caveat; in many people’s eyes, Byrd did not merely ‘shoot’ Babbitt - he murdered her. If true, whether that action was taken in cold blood or due to rampant incompetence should hold no bearing; while serving as a police officer, Byrd shot an unarmed woman - a military veteran - and she died because of his actions.
Period.
A woman whose history, I must remind you, was far less violent than… oh, I don’t know, a now-departed (alleged) fentanyl abuser (allegedly) killed by police? And how much did George Floyd’s family score in their lawsuit against the city of Minneapolis? 27 million, you say?
Yeah.
May Ashli’s family be equally compensated, and may she never be forgot…
