When the politics-of-the-moment can have long-term consequences
I am sure you all have heard of Alligator Alcatraz [Alli-Al], a new detention center intended for the ‘worst-of-the-worst’ illegal invaders ‘immigrants’. Nestled deep in the Florida swamplands, it has been a flash-point of searing anger for far-Left activists… and of celebration for those who consider themselves MAGA. These disparities are largely due to one side trusting Donald Trump implicitly, while the other side…
… yeah, not so much.
As I have been watching this unfold, with assertions ranging from reasonable to absurd, I ended up with a question for my MAGA friends, for those who may be embracing the creation of this facility because of the expected occupants.
Have we really thought this thing through?
DHS disputes dire conditions at Alligator Alcatraz

First, we’ll discuss this…
(DHS) is denying reports of improper living conditions for detainees at Alligator Alcatraz after… reports this week have claimed that the detainees at the detention facility in the Florida Everglades are surrounded by toilets that don't flush, temperatures ranging from freezing to sweltering, little to no access to showers, less confidential calls with an attorney, and even a hospitalization.
To be clear, I am not suggesting any of the terrible things being reported by Agenda Media are true. Thus far, there is no evidence of wrong-doing on the part of those running Alli-Al, and we need to remember that the news orgs dropping these stories are the same ones who gaslit us repeatedly during the COVID psyop.
So no, I do not trust them.
I also have little sympathy for the inhabitants. We’re not talking about American citizens who took a stroll through the Capital building during a protest and really WERE treated abhorrently while incarcerated. Nope, these are murders, rapists, and pedophiles… and not a one of them should have never been here in the first place.
Honestly, so being they are getting three-square, a bunk, basic health amenities, and not being tortured or abused? They are receiving a fair shake, and in many cases getting more than a lot of law-abiding Americans have these days.
So no, the sympathy well is pretty dry with this lot.
As such, you may be wondering why I am concerned about this swampy-prison setup, and why I asked the question above. The reason is simple: I do my best to look beyond the moment-at-hand, to see potential outcomes before they manifest, and in my view there are many very bad things - for many of us - on the horizon with this thing.
Do I think Trump himself will go beyond what he says it is for? No, too many eyes are on him to get away with expanding the purpose of Alli-Al. Do I think a future, Agenda-driven president would, however, especially if he (or she, no need to be sexist) has a news-media which has proven it will feed us a never-ending stream of propaganda - while burying the truth - to support said-Agenda? Do I think that is possible?
Damned right I do.
And it’s not like we do not have examples. Between the aforementioned COVID and J6 travesties, and the listing of a wide variety of concerned Americans as potential ‘domestic terrorists’, we have a buffet of unsavory decrees from the US government.
Tea-party activists. Christian conservatives. Second Amendment advocates. IRS / tax protesters. Ron Paul supporters. Parents merely attending school-board meetings because they do not want children reading sexually-explicit indoctrination tomes. Populists, preppers, pro-lifers… the list goes on.
All of these, at various points, were listed as (or at least considered to potentially be) ‘domestic terrorists’. Now, can you imagine what the people who made these determinations would do with a place like ‘Alligator Alcatraz’?
After all, the pendulum of power swings both ways; one side gains control for a while, then it swings back to the other end of the spectrum. Even if you do trust Trump, he will not be in power forever (despite fevered speculations otherwise, he actually is NOT a ‘dictator’), so those who manufactured the target-lists above will eventually hold the reigns again. Once they do, having a gator-surrounded ‘holding’ area at their disposal… what do you think will happen?
So I ask again, “Have we really thought this ‘Alcatraz’ thing through?” Because I have, and I cannot see anything good coming from it…

The one thing about AA is that, as quickly as it went up it can come down. Plenty of time between an election and inauguration to disassemble it and take the land out of circulation.
Let's face it: as we saw with J6, they don't need a backwater prison camp to hold political prisoners. This just works out for Trump's purposes.
