You’ve seen the headlines… now, we dig a little deeper.…
Welcome to the latest edition of Seven-Round Mag. With healthy doses of passion, common sense, and brevity, I offer raw, unfiltered commentary on a diverse collection of news stories. I will also - on occasion - throw in a dash of sarcasm for flavor… because who wants to consume bland brain-foods?
So, without further delay, let’s talk about the news…
US to Build Robot Army to Counter China's Growing Power
Science Alert
So they are using China (or occasionally Russia, because they are not picky) to pretty much excuse everything at this point…
The United States military plans to start using thousands of autonomous weapons systems in the next two years in a bid to counter China's growing power, US Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks announced in a speech on Monday.
Funny thing about ‘robots?’ They do what they are programmed to do. Period.
They do not question the objectives, nor care if innocent civilians are at risk. They do not wonder if their targets are justified, nor do they consider the Posse Comitatus Act nor Constitutional guarantees of Due Process… they do not consider anything at all. They just follow orders.
As such, do you really think our government is so benevolent that it would never ever utilize such tools against its own citizens? Yeah - I don't think that either.
Furthermore, how far away is that military from creating bio-tech-hybrid super-soldiers… and how will that technology be filtered into the general population? Judging from the stories regarding the rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence that I have been reading, it is coming more quickly than many of us realize.
Are we on the verge of becoming mindless flesh-drones, tied into - and thus controlled by - a proverbial queen bee of a hive mind?
Someone should tell these technocrats that the Borg from Star Trek were intended as a cautionary tale - not a blueprint for the future…
White House announces additional $450 million in funding to fight opioid epidemic
Fox News
Because Federal efforts to fight drug use have been so successful in the past? Well, I know I surely feel comforted by this announcement - I am confident that the fentanyl crisis will be all wrapped up by winter, with a pretty bow tied around it.
I know, my friends… I know.
As usual, their solution is to throw heaping buckets of coin at the problem, coin which will undoubtedly be wasted in - and laundered through - bureaucratic red-tape and shady exchanges. Meanwhile, the horrific consequences of this genuine epidemic will continue unabated.
They could change my mind, however. If they took one step, I would start to believe they were serious about fighting this scourge on our nation. One simple yet poignant step.
Secure our damned borders…
Remember when the COVID absolutists were suggesting that those of us who said, ‘No,’ to Big-Pharma mandates, should accept their insincere apologies and give them a do-over? I remember - even wrote an article about it (link below), where I once again deployed my favorite full-sentence.
Well, the days of their faux-humility are long forgotten and well behind them.
Despite the roaring bonfire of evidence that excessive mask use during the COVID-19 ‘pandemic’ was actually more harmful than helpful, they are once again pushing for the mandated utilization of them.
So… let’s throw one more anti-establishment log on that fire…
Researchers from Jeonbuk National University… looked at two types of disposable medical-grade masks, as well as several reusable cotton masks… [and] the chemicals released by these masks had eight times the recommended safety limit of toxic volatile organic compounds... [which have] been linked to health issues like headaches and nausea, while prolonged and repeated [use] has been linked to organ damage and even cancer.
If that were not enough, the Centers for Disease Control [CDC] recently - and quietly - ended its website for reporting vaccine after-effects; called VSAFE, the site now displays the message, “Thank you for your participation.”
There can be only one explanation for them - once again - implementing the draconian steps they are taking, especially while knowing that said-steps are harmful to the masses; they actually want to harm the masses… harm you.
Perhaps you should remember that as they continue to push their vaccines and boosters…

Biden Administration Approves First-Ever Military Transfer To Taiwan
One America News
Here we go again. Between our continued money-laundering efforts in funding of Ukraine, to our shifty policies regarding North Korea, to this… THIS? It appears our current administration is actively trying to launch World War III…
The Biden administration has approved funding for the first-ever transfer of military weapons and equipment to Taiwan. The package totals to around $80 million and will be part of the estimated $2 billion that was set aside for funding to Taiwan…
I mean, to what other conclusion can a rational person come?
To be fair, $80M of a $2B package seems miniscule when compared to the insane amount of money which continues to be funneled into Ukraine. Still, we are dropping military hardware into a nation (Taiwan) which another - much more powerful - nation (China) considers its own territory.
Ask yourself how we would respond in a similar situation, and you’ll get a gauge of what response we can expect from China. Realistically speaking, I cannot see how this can possibly end well for us, or for the world-at-large.
And yet they keep marching - nay, carelessly and joyfully sprinting - toward the abyss…
Pope Francis blasts 'backwardness' of conservatives in US Catholic church
Fox News
The unmitigated hubris - and sheer gall - found in this pope is breathtaking.
Perhaps someone should clue Frankie in on a couple of things…
- Of all the ‘developed’ nations, the United States is one of the most Christian-friendly.
- A vast majority of Catholics in the U.S. would consider themselves, ‘conservative’
- Americans tend to be generous with donations, if they believe in something
- The Vatican is dependent upon the generosity of its members
- Holding onto traditional values in unsettling times is not ‘backward’ - it is the very reason foundational beliefs exist at all.
After knowing only JP2 and Benny One-Six as Pope for most of my life, watching this hand-slapping Elitist shift the papacy far-left is utterly perplexing. While I am not Catholic, and have found the Church’s handling of the child-abuse allegations utterly repellent, over the years I have still found certain aspects of the faith to be fascinating, at least on a ethereal level.
Now, thanks to this pope? I can only see the spiritual corruption…
Paper straws not safe for the environment: study
Post Millennial
Remember that time when the same people who are relentlessly driving the EV-or-drive-not narrative said that plastic straws were harmful to the environment, and that we should switch to paper straws?
Remember how they assert that they are all-knowledgeable on all things climate-related, and thus we should trust their arrogant assessments over our own humble common-sense?
Yeah, about that…
A new study has revealed that the thought-to-be eco-friendly alternative to plastic straws - straws made of paper - contain potentially toxic chemicals that could harm people and the environment.
Tell me why exactly we should trust them on the environment, or on EVs, or on… anything?
Go ahead - I’ll wait…
Gen Z should drink more beer, eat less trendy TikTok food: experts
NY Post
While there is actual science behind this idea - considering some of the culinary choices we see by Gen Z on TikTok, a necessary science - I mostly just like having fun at Z’s expense.
I mean really - even in China, land of state-driven ambition, you have adult Z’ers moving back home to become ‘full-time children.’ So yes, looking at them with a degree of “What the blazes is going ON here?” seems apropos.
To be fair, however, despite my occasional jabs I actually like many of those in the generation known as Z. Sure, a few of them are crazier than shithouse rats, and many are oft far too uptight and sensitive about… well, everything. BUT some of them are exceedingly cool people, and oft more aware than many Gen X’ers I know.
It goes back the old analogy: People are people. No matter age or race or background, some are decent and intelligent individuals, and the rest are… not.
With that noted? It probably wouldn’t hurt for you all to crack open a cold one or two, from time to time. You know, to just relax a little bit…
That is all for this edition of Seven-Round Mag. As always thank you so much for your continued support, and may you all have a great week ahead.
Of all things going on right now in this world, AI bothers me the most. It is a technology that could be considered in it's infancy at present but will over time become a animal we can not contain. Terminator, Irobot, the Borg, are all a glimpse into the future of a path we may be currently on.
