Then Taylor Came to Town
The Internet - and the now-Globalist NFL - erupted in my proverbial backyard
It’s a big club… and you ain’t in it.
- George Carlin
If you were on X / Twitter at all in the last couple of days, you undoubtedly noticed that singer, songwriter, and global phenomenon Taylor Swift was trending. A lot. I mean, trending unlike she has in many, many moons.
The reason? She went to a football game. In the heartland of America.
As I do NOT host a ‘gossip’ site, and since celebrity stories usually bore me senseless, let us unpack Sunday’s bizarre events with as little cringe as possible, that we can get to the larger point…
- Cultural Alpha-Fem is rumored to be dating the latest NFL Golden-Boy.
- Said Golden-Boy (Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce, a Super Bowl champion, future Hall of Famer, and himself a burgeoning ‘celebrity’), invites Alpha-Fem to watch him play a game on his home turf.
- Alpha-Fem does so, sitting with Golden-Boy’s mother (who has become a minor celebrity in her own right) in the stands, cheering like a high-school girl watching her prom-king boyfriend’s game.
- City starving for respect and relevance (as a native Missourian and current resident of the KC area, I know this to be true) goes crazy with adoration.
- Internet skips the adoration and just goes crazy, with hot-takes galore.
- After the game Alpha-Fem and Golden-Boy ride off into the night in his classic convertible… just like two teenagers would have in 1984.
Oh, and also? The Chiefs convincingly pounded the Chicago Bears… but who gives a crap about football when Taylor’s in the house?

While I risk stirring the ire of Swifties - the name adopted by the pop star’s fervent fans - this is really less about her and more to do with Travis Kelce and his meteoric trajectory. To be honest I have zero interest in celebrity ‘love’ stories, or celebrities in general, and I have also (due to its hard-left turn) lost all interest in the NFL. However, this one caught my attention.
Because of the ‘Club.’
We know that those in the highest echelons of the entertainment industry belong to that special ‘Club’ (and you do not get much higher than Taylor Swift), but up until recently there have been only a very small handful of athletes to reach that pinnacle. LeBron James and Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes immediately come to mind in that regard, and perhaps a couple of others, but most of them are not included.
In order to even be considered you must not only be at a high level of excellence in your sport, but also maintain a certain world-view; many of those who do excel are also philosophically ‘traditional’ and therefore not seen as potential members. Travis has never been - in any way - ‘traditional’… but does he check off enough boxes?
Let us review just the last eight months...
1) Won a Super Bowl.
2) Guest-hosted the Globalist snooze-fest Saturday Night Live.
3) Shilled for Bud Light after the Dylan Mulvaney fiasco.
4) Sold his soul to Pfizer to pimp out their ‘vaccines.’
That last one pretty much capped it: Travis Kelce is most definitely in the Club now, and should be approached as such. We should also never forget the most important rule of the Club, because it affects us all: We, us commoners, are not invited.

If you are holding on to delusions about the NFL - that is it still a rugged American sport with traditional values - and feeling good about supporting it? Let this be your gentle nudge.
You. Are. Not. Invited.
The only thing you are good for in their eyes is to serve as a source of wealth and power. You do this with your time and attention, and with the money you spend on their products. As such, we actually hold the power to bring them to their knees, if we would only exercise it.
If you want things to change, it starts (as is oft the case) with taking a stand. We must look at the elite Powers in the NFL, and - with an iron will - boldly speak the shortest (yet most powerful) complete sentence in the English Language.
No.
That… is all it would take.
