Trump, DeSantis, and the Insanity

A grim preview of what is to come... and a potential solution

It has been barely two weeks since Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination via Twitter Spaces, and I am already fed up with this election cycle. Seeing what I am seeing unfold is discouraging, and I don’t think I have the energy for the rampant hatred and vitriolic infighting anymore.

We can disagree and debate - and we can do so passionately - without personal attacks; we can… but we won’t. It is the nature of the beast these days.

As such, in my opinion whoever wins the Republican nomination is (at this point) close to moot, because if - IF - things keep going as they are the Democrat standard-bearer will be elected president in 2024. With the proverbial bad-blood being spilled no Trump supporter will vote for DeSantis, and the same in reverse, giving the Democrat nominee the victory. That is not an attack on either side; it is just a grim reality.

This does not bode well for Liberty-minded individuals, as it is very likely that Comrade Josef Biden (or one of his fellow ‘progressives’) will get the Democrat nomination; we have already seen which direction THEY wish to take the country, and it is a disaster-in-waiting for conservatives, libertarians and traditional liberals.

If, by some miracle, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. [RFK Jr.] were to grab the Democrat Party’s top spot we would at least have a fighting chance; as I recently discussed…

RFK Jr. is not your standard-issue, circa-2023 Democrat; he himself is a traditional liberal, an anti-war advocate and feisty defender of medical liberty and parental rights. As far away from the Leftist/Globalist paradigm as a Democrat can get, several of his stances do resonate with many who lean right, especially libertarians.

With that noted, how realistic is it that the Globalists in that party will let him grab the nomination? While we can have hope, the prospects are not promising.

So what is the solution for us pro-Liberty, pro-Republic voters? The same it has always been, though we have been programmed to forget it: Concentrate on local concerns. Our constitution still has teeth, worn down though they may be, and part of that is the decentralization of power which is written into it; as such, channeling energy into city, county, and state elections is vital.

In that vein - and I cannot stress this enough - it is critical to pay close attention to your County Sheriff elections. It has been a drumbeat of mine for a while now (I intend to write a full article on the subject in the near-future), and the reason why it has is simple: That is the one law-enforcement office which (theoretically, at least) answers directly to the people.

As such, the importance of voting for an individual with strong pro-Liberty stands (especially regarding the natural right to keep and bear arms) cannot be overstated. These are the men and women who will - if you vote wisely - serve as our last-line of official defense against tyrannical assaults from the Federal level, should they ever occur.

Remember, the hyper-focus on drawing citizens away from local issues and toward national elections has been part of the deconstruction of our Republic for decades now; the higher one can concentrate power, the easier it is to control the masses. As such, ‘thinking local’ is the strongest tool we have to counter the globalist intrusion that is manifesting - and will likely continue to manifest - in this nation of ours.

We need to be fully aware of this fact, and prepare accordingly…
