Hello everyone! Welcome to this edition of Written In Stone [WIS] - the newsletter normally written entirely for paid Members. However, over the past few weeks I have been making the opening segment available to everyone, in its entirety, and since the feedback I have received has been positive? We’re going to keep doing it, at least for the time being.

And this week, you get TWO free segments! And again, both segments will be available, in their entirety, with no pay-wall mid-article. It always annoys me when that happens, so I endeavor to never do that to you.

Sent and posted every week, WIS is a free-flow of candid thoughts and raw ideas, with very little filter, and it has become my primary Substack publication. So…
If you’re not already a paid member, join us! It is only $30 a year (or $5 a month on the monthly) to support my work, and you get this nifty newsletter every week!

Yep - this is 52 issues a year! Pretty cool, eh? So join me today!

Enjoy these free segments, available for all readers…

Prime Cut: Biometrics… Yay?

I try really hard to have faith in people, that they will do the right thing when the proverbial-rubber meets the road.

That faith is rapidly wearing thin…

Flyers once viewed airport biometrics with fear and skepticism. Now they prefer it
CNBC

The article is quite effusive about the fact the number of fliers who have not used biometrics at an airport is down to an all-time low of 31%. While the numbers in southeast Asia are lower than here in the States, there is evidence Americans are embracing the mark-of-the-beast digitalization-of-personhood as well.

It goes further, saying that people are now not only getting more comfortable with biometrics, but are also warming to Digital ID as a whole, due to its convenience. Even amongst those who are on board, however, there are still many who harbor grave concerns about the privacy of their personal data… just not grave enough to say ‘no’ to comfort and convenience.

Because priorities.

The greatest dangers to Liberty are not found in overtly tyrannical threats, from kings and dictators and armies. No, they are instead embedded in a conditioned apathy, one which sprouts from a hopeless and corrosive yearning for ‘comfort and convenience’.

A yearning, that is subconsciously programmed into us every single day…

Bonus: Gas Prices Inching Lower… But What About The Rest?

Okay, so perhaps we have some good news on which to report.

Perhaps…

Gas prices could drop below $3.00 mark nationwide as costs continue falling across America
Fox Business

I cannot speak for others, of course, but I admit I have noticed the prices on fuel falling slightly. I initially attributed this to exiting the travel season, when costs historically drop, but according to the report it is actually down compared to this time last year.

So… reason for hope. Not where we need to be, but getting better.

That noted, I am still not seeing any genuine relief at the grocery store, especially with livestock foods. Beef, pork, and poultry (still waiting for eggs to return to pre-Biden prices) are still way too expensive, and unless you are willing to choke down pre-processed rot (which I have been actively working to avoid), your dollar is STILL buying less.

All that noted? It took over two years for President Ronald Reagan’s ‘boom’ to finally kick in, so I’ll take the ‘W’ with the fuel news and see where it goes from here…

Thank you for reading these free segments of WIS; I hope you enjoyed them.
