Here we go, folks - for the first time since Black Friday, we are firing up another edition of the wildly popular Chiseled Bits [CB]. Beloved by compatriots. reviled by adversaries, this deep dive into the raging river of daily life cannot be ignored… cannot be denied.
Now, how was THAT for an intro? *A wee bit over the top there, eh?
Anyhow, this edition is really more like ‘chunks’ than ‘bits,’ but since the phrase, ‘Chiseled Chunks,’ sounds all kinds of wrong? We’re going full-throttle with the standard headline.
Also, this one feels more like a retreaded TDT piece than a CB drop of yore; that was not intentional, but it’s the way it worked out, so that is what is being posted. It is what it is.
Enough yammering - enjoy…

A Different Kind of VP
-- WATCHING VICE-PRESIDENT J.D. Vance in action over the past few weeks is a stark projection of just how utterly useless (and even dangerous) previous VPs really were, especially in my lifetime. From LBJ (a little before my time, but we’ll run with it) to Bush the Elder, Biden and Pence and Harris, every one of them was not only incompetent - not only ‘anti-American’ - but in some cases? Flat-out evil.
Dick Cheney, anyone?
Vance, on the other hand, has been a gusting breath of air, putting America first wherever he goes; whether you see that breath as ‘fresh’ or ‘foul’ depends on your political perspective (I don’t always agree with him, either), but you have to admit he is redefining the office.
For good or bane, Vance is a different beast…
Caylee’s ‘Mother’
So, did you hear that Casey Anthony - yep, THAT Casey Anthony - has fired up a new account here on Substack? To quote from her profile page…
It has been more than 16 years since my name became a household one. Everyone seems to have an opinion - about me, and about my life. I am an advocate, a researcher. These are my words, this is my REAL life.
Advocate… for what, exactly? Child murderers?
She also opened a TikTok page, and that has gone over… well, pretty much as you might expect. A video from Justin Nunley encapsulates the entire vibe toward her over there; for your convenience, I have dropped an eleven-second snippet of it…
You can watch the full-length video here, and as for Casey?
My focus is where I think it should be: May you rest in peace, Caylee - we have not forgotten you…
Can Ya Spare A Dime?
-- WE NEED A ‘tip-jar’ which can be included in our posts here on Substack, one which is fully integrated into the site’s ecosystem.
Oh, have I said that before? Well, I am saying it again.
I know, I know, we can set a link to “Buy Me a Coffee” (which I have) and utilize that, but it is completely senseless to expect people to travel off-site just to show some love. I mean, when I have eaten at a great restaurant and wanted to support the staff with a generous tip, never once have I been told, “Sure! Tip-jar is on the front-counter at the antique shop, two-doors down to the left.”
I mean, really - does that make any kind of sense? I don’t think so, either. Substack needs to step up, and give us smaller accounts a chance to make a little coin where we can…
Intellectually ‘Bougie’
-- I RECENTLY POSTED this (or a variation of this, anyhow) on Notes and other platforms…
If you are still unironically reading The Atlantic in 2025? I am going to assume you hate Liberty and America and Bacon and us Commoners... and probably yourself, too.
Or, that you are insane. That works as well...
In all seriousness, I still see links to Atlantic articles from time to time, and I cannot help but wonder what kind of mindset is necessary to still take that rag seriously. Most of the classical liberals I know are giving the magazine a wide berth, due to the hard-left it has taken, so who remains?
Just ‘Parlor-Leftists’ from what I can tell (you know of whom I speak), and there are not enough of those in America to keep a magazine like that afloat. Which brings up the question, “Who - or what - has been financing this steaming pile a garbage? The American taxpayers through shady NGOs, perhaps?”
I know it seems crazy to consider, but after what DOGE is unearthing? At this point, nothing is off the table…

There have been forty-nine sunrises since President Donald J. Trump took office, and we are still waiting for the Epstein / Maxwell client-list to drop.
We demand full disclosure. We are not going away. We will not be denied…
The Book of Kash
-- MANY WITHIN REPUBLICAN circles were quite irritated with Kash Patel, including those who support him, over a choice he made for his swearing-in as the new FBI director. Instead of taking his oath on a Bible - the traditional book upon which one normally places their left hand here in America - he instead went with a different ancient text, the Bhagavad Gita.
This caused much wailing and gnashing of teeth, especially amongst the Reagan purists in the party.
Meanwhile, I was sitting there wondering, “Well, what the hell did people expect? He’s friggin’ Hindu!” Expecting him to swear an oath on The Bible would be like demanding a Jew swear fealty on a Koran: Meaningless.
And this is why I was happy Patel chose the Gita; He swore to protect and defend the Constitution of our Republic on a book he sees as scared; that gives his oath a layer of meaning - of weight - which holds him to it on a spiritual level. That level would not have meant the same had he used a Bible, and - to be honest - if he had sworn it on a that Christian text, or any other book?
I would have trusted his oath - and him - a whole lot less…
Jukebox
-- IN THE MOOD FOR some raw, live music? I got you covered…
This song hits multiple feels for me, for reasons which are my own; I hope you are able to enjoy it as I do - or at least enjoy it a little bit…
A Green Land
Like many of you, I was perplexed by President Trump’s desire for Greenland. It seemed silly to me, that he would spend so much political capital on such an insignificant territory. I mean, sure, there are plentiful natural resources, and yes, there are limited defense advantages, but are either of those worth the cash we would have to spend… or justify the potential of going to war with Europe?
Then I read this piece…
'There's never been a spotlight like this': Greenland heads to the polls as Trump eyes territory
BBC World
… and read this line…
According to recent polls, almost 80% of Greenlanders back moves towards future statehood.
… and suddenly it all made sense. The crafty SOB.
Trump is not at all interested in making Greenland a US territory - he wants to drive the independence movement there. Because a sovereign Greenland can be a equal partner with US interests… without Denmark’s involvement.
Without Europe’s involvement.
See, this is why I have been slowly pulling back from discussing politics here on The Stone Age; the more I know, the more I know just how little I do know…
And Finally…
Let us close out this edition of Chiseled Bits with a gentle reminder as to why my career as a motivational speaker never really left the ground…
Appreciate you being here; hope you enjoyed this moment…

Casey is not reading the room at all. If she is, she’s got both eyes closed. She doesn’t deserve a platform
Casey Anthony: she must be hard up for money. Ew.
A tip jar: I agree with Ken, I think it's better to have it separate. Just in case...
Greenland: I admit I don't always know whether to take Trump seriously or not. He likes to troll, which, if I'm honest, is part of why I voted for him. If the left is howling, then I'm lol-ing! *I can't believe I just wrote that* We're only in March of 2025, so we'll have to see how this all plays out.
The Atlantic: It must be one of those entities that is getting money through some convoluted path. It looks like there were so many of those. I've had at least two friends from my old blogging days go absolutely apeshit over all the DOGE stuff, and I think one of them quoted the Atlantic when she went off.
