A tip jar: I agree with Ken, I think it's better to have it separate. Just in case...
Greenland: I admit I don't always know whether to take Trump seriously or not. He likes to troll, which, if I'm honest, is part of why I voted for him. If the left is howling, then I'm lol-ing! *I can't believe I just wrote that* We're only in March of 2025, so we'll have to see how this all plays out.
The Atlantic: It must be one of those entities that is getting money through some convoluted path. It looks like there were so many of those. I've had at least two friends from my old blogging days go absolutely apeshit over all the DOGE stuff, and I think one of them quoted the Atlantic when she went off.
"If the left is howling, then I'm lol-ing! *I can't believe I just wrote that*" -- You did indeed, Kerry - and I am GLAD you did! Got a great laugh out of it :-)
And I find your friend's mention of 'The Atlantic' - in that context - to be most interesting. They have to be getting financing SOMEWHERE - no way subscriptions are paying all those living-in-NYC salaries - so perhaps it IS government-based kickbacks (or 'kick-sideways' in this case) footing the bill. I have a feeling more is going to be revealed.
And no, I do not get the Casey Anthony thing either, seems like pure narcissism. That noted, @Charlotte Pendragon suggested a book which discusses counter-points, that maybe she actually did NOT do it. I am planning to dig into it this week - may have a follow-up piece soon ;-)
The author of the book explains that Casey amay have played a role in her death or disappearance along with other members of her family and some Satanic cult affiliations. You can hear Timothy talk about her and Haleigh Cummings case here. Two week old video.
Are you aware of Timothy Charles Holmeseth? He has an entirely different take on the Casey/Caylee Anthony case.
“In 2019, Timothy Holmseth became the news reporter for the Pentagon Pedophile Task Force, which was, according to self-described U.S. Secret Service Agent David Lester Straight, created through the Donald J. Trump White House, per Presidential Executive Order, and operates through United States Army Intelligence Support Activity to provide actionable intelligence of international crimes and crimes against humanity to the U.S. Military through special liaison to President Trump and Joint Special Operations Command.
NOTE: Holmseth’s JSOC connection(s) may have been part of factions of the United States Military and federal agencies that were secretly working against President Trump (which Timothy uncovered and exposed).”
It’s somewhat challenging to verify Timothy's astonishing reports, but there appears to be considerable evidence suggesting he might be onto something. Many dismiss his claims as mere conspiracy theories, and that could very well be the case.
However, he was correct about one significant matter: before the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024, he warned the Secret Service twice about a foreign paramilitary force planning to carry out the assassination.
Thanks for the post. I agree on the tip jar. There should be a way to tip right on the site. I am an advocate for PRIVATE crypto. I believe Monero is the best option so far, but they are continually working on new technology. Epic Cash seems to be a great option as well. If you post a public key for Monero on your site people can tip you that way.
On the swearing on the Bible post I agree as well. If you read the Bible and follow the words of Jesus, he says, Matthew 5:33 “Again you have heard that it was said to those of [m]old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’ 34 But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 But let [n]your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
Appreciate the insightful comment, Dennis. I am still a neophyte when it comes to crypto of any manner, but even with my limited (neigh, non-existent) knowledge of how it works? I can definitely see how adding that option to Substack would be a game-changer for many creators.
Also,, an excellent application of Matthew's words as well - kudos! *salute
As usual, you are my Go-to for news, and you proving time and again that it is the right choice. You are absolutely right about Mr Patel choosing the book sacred to him.
While I can see both sides of the tip jar issue, for as much as Substack sells itself as an income source you would have thought they would want some of that pie. Why give Stripe the percentage they take when it can go to Substack directly.
Unless their cut comes from Stripe and it's part of the toll those of us who have paying subscribers lose on each one.
I hadn't considered that, Michael, that there could be a special 'behind the scenes' deal with BMaC; they both use Stripe, so maybe there is something to that.
Thank you for the music. That was refreshing. I prefer music to politics as music is not nearly as divisive. I hope your writing for the book is going well.
Given the horror stories relating to authors subscription payments and everything associated with it, maybe the tip set up the way it is may be a little bit better in its current form. Caylee Anthony…preemptive BLOCK. Thanks for the link, it made the blocking quite easy.
Appreciate your thoughts, Ken. It sounds good in theory (for them to be separate and all), except - at least from my experience - no one uses it LOL I thought maybe my stuff just hasn't been worthy as late, but other creators - high-quality writers - are dealing with the same issues as I with using BMaC from here.
Then again, it could just be the economy - times are tight at the moment, lots of uncertainty, etc. - so I get it.
And yeah, right there with you on the Casey Insta-block. Got no time for that (allegedly) murderous freak-show... *salute
“See, this is why I have been slowly pulling back from discussing politics here on The Stone Age; the more I know, the more I know just how little I do know..”
Kudos to you, it takes a wise man to recognize this. I think the circle of people who actually have all the facts that make up the big picture of what is going on behind the curtain is relatively small. I tend to discount anyone who claims to know exactly what is going on.
To be honest, Karen, I tend to discount them as well, in all fields of study and research. Anyone who claims absolute knowledge on a subject (especially one of a nuanced, esoteric, or speculative nature) is usually an absolute grifter, and cannot be trusted. The humble are oft the wise ones, and while I am no where near 'wisdom' as yet... I am working to get there ;-)
Thanks, Angela! It seems like a perfectly reasonable feature to me; why Substack refuses to consider it, I have no clue, but they have made it clear it's not in the cards.
Casey is not reading the room at all. If she is, she’s got both eyes closed. She doesn’t deserve a platform
Casey Anthony: she must be hard up for money. Ew.

Thanks again, for another great comment!
Love the article, Stone.
As far as Casey Anthony, I am very surprised when any "mother" murders her Child, how they can ever show themselves to the public.
Thank you very much, Susan - very kind of you :-)

I have it saved to Kindle 'wish list' - it's a short read, so I should be able to dive in later this evening.
Thanks for the recommendation!

Once we get Greenland, then we can annex Russia. Think of the possibilities.
LOL!
Yes, you are right, a Tip Jar would be great!
As usual, you are my Go-to for news, and you proving time and again that it is the right choice. You are absolutely right about Mr Patel choosing the book sacred to him.
I appreciate that so much, Joyce - thank you! Happy you are enjoying it still... :-)
I always do, Stone :o)

It's coming along VERY well, Elizabeth - thank you for asking! I might have more to share in this week's 'WIS' ;-)
And you are most welcome for the music. Sometimes, we just gotta unwind... :-)

Tip Jar is a great idea! That Caylee Anthony is nuts!
