Linda Ronstadt with the Eagles….I missed that pairing. Thanks so much for that. What a treat. Not frivolous, good music and art add value and feed our souls. At least that is how I feel about it. This was great and a lovely reprieve from intense subject matters. The jukebox reference was very clever.
Funny sidebar about The Eagles - Ronstadt was actually instrumental (no pun intended) in getting the band going. A little tidbit of musical history there ;-)
So happy you enjoyed this - and I agree, we occasionally need a break from the incessant 'dour.' Hopefully I can find a way to continue to drop those here, from time to time :-)
Draiman’s version of “Sounds of Silence” is a bomb. 💥💥
I’d never even heard of Disturbed before he did that. Reminds me of the Boston-based metal band Extreme who no one had ever heard of until they dropped the acoustic “More Than Words”
My second comment, sorry, Mr. Bryson. I think this was actually an important post as music is one thing that can help bring people together when attempts are made to divide us via politics, religion, race, gender, etc. I use music to connect with people far older and younger than myself, people I would not have much in common with otherwise. I have used music to get sick children and elderly people to eat and to try and bring some joy. So, I really appreciate this compilation which was well-thought out and cleverly presented. Nicely done, sir! Thanks!
I cannot even imagine going through something like that, AM. And hers was one of those voices where you only needed two or three notes to know, “Oh hey - that’s Linda Ronstadt.” Not many like that, especially these days…

Very gracious of you, Elizabeth - thank you <3

I'm liking this jukebox you are spinning tunes on. Great compilation.
Thanks, Jessica! As a lifelong lover of music, I plan to drop more of these in the future :-)
Great selection, we definitely NEED a distraction from the "norm" at times! Thanks Stone!
Thanks so much, Susan, happy you were able to vibe with it...
Hey Stone, I love music!
Linda Ronstadt was AMAZING……extraordinary vocal range!
Thanks, Annette - and I agree, there really has been no one like her. Completely unique-yet-powerful vocals :-)

Extreme is a great example! Like Michael Bolton - became famous as a smooth crooner, but everyone forgot he started off as a metal-rocker guy :-)
I think this version of 'SoS' is now my fav, TBH...

Love it! :-)

I really, REALLY appreciate this, Elizabeth - thank you, and thank you for being here. I always appreciate you gracious comments :-)
'Silver Threads' for me. Linda completely lost her voice, devastating I'm sure, as it would be for me as well

All Tasty!
OMG, Joss Stone.
Thanks, Donn 🙂
And yeah, Joss... a force of nature ☺️
Not as forceful as Joplin. More whiskey please.
Nobody did it like Janis, no doubt :-)
Yes, I do realized I misspelled that... oh well
Wait, what did you misspell? What did I miss? :-)
Sorry, I was late getting to these comments; I don't always get the notifications like I am supposed to :-\
