Dammit I hate mainstream music and I can’t stand vocal that sound to euro but then I watched muse lyrics, turns out there not as shitty as I thought!!!
There are probably so many songs out there that I’ll never know because I didn’t want to be a part of the mtv generation! Oh well!! Also you are welcome good sir
A great tune, indeed; I actually considered adding it, but I wanted only one song per artist (it's the reason why I left out Muse's 'Knights of Cydonia' LOL); as such, I chose 'Carry On...' for this drop :-)
Carry On Wayward Son is iconic, and applies to the time beginning in the 70s when it was released. Vietnam settled down and eventually Nixon was impeached. It was a new era. I thought it was all about peace, and I felt it in the air then. The hippies won. Today I feel it’s in anthem encouraging strength, bravery, and unity to continue our battle against the forces of evil. Wonderful selection Stone. Thank you for sharing some fun today!🎵😚💜🤗
Very happy you enjoyed it, Charlotte - thank you! "Carry On..." has been on my primary playlist for years, and I never tire of it - such a timeless tune 🥰
Great selections Stone! Have always dug that Muse song—such a great beat to drive those lyrics home. One of my favorite unsung bands. Starlight and Knights of Cydonia too 👍💪🏻
I really loved this compilation. Thank you! My father was a VP for Capitol Records back in the days of Doobie Brothers, Bob Seger, etc. so may I take the liberty of adding Music Takes Me Up by Mr. Scruff (featuring Alice Russel)? It is a song that has gotten me through a lot of craziness since leaving the so-called Establishment in 2012. The video is rather adorable….sans standard music industry creepy imagery. I would provide a link but I do not know how to perform that task as a “not tech savvy” person. Thanks for providing me with a couple of artists with whom I was not familiar. Thankfully, I am at least capable of adding them to my playlist haha!
I hear ya, Michael. It's been a fav of mine since it first came out, but with the recent shift-of-interpretation - at least for me - I have gotten even MORE bullish on it :-)
Thank you for the shenanigans, sir! I have been a Phil Collins fan for many years and I’m glad you included him here. And Caitlynne Curtis has a phenomenal voice and to call that song an anthem is an understatement. Keep up the great work
You were one of those in the proverbial trenches, Scott, during the COVID madness - so I figured YOU would appreciate me including that song ;-) BTW, have you heard her recent cover of "Whiskey Lullaby?" Holy cow, she crushes it!
And thanks for the kind and encouraging words, brother... *salute
Awesome mix. I believe Caitlynne could sing a store list and I'd have to listen.
I could NOT agree more, Doug! The most underrated talent in music, IMO...
Happy you enjoyed the mix, BTW :-)

LOL I get that, but sometimes the lyrics of a song overcome an aversion to a type of music in said-song.
Only 'sometimes'... LOL Thanks for the suggestion!

That Muse and Kansas song are on my apocalypse playlist, fun post, great for a Friday night!
Thanks, thought it was a nice break going into the weekend :-)
And I struggled between including either "Uprising" or "Knights of Cydonia" - both bring the fire, but two Muse songs might have been overkill ;-)
Ha! I was just going to say something about "Knights of Cydonia"!! :))
That comes right after "The Sound of Silence" by Disturbed and "The Chant" by Gojira on that playlist!
Great shenanigating!!
Thanks Stone!!
Thank YOU, An, glad you enjoyed it.
And I agree, Disturbed's cover of SoS is chillingly beautiful! 💯
💯!! Another song that was recorded in "record" time!! 😁
Awesome, these all are a fit for what we are/have been going through! Thanks Stone!
Thank YOU, Susan - happy you enjoyed this little collection ☺️
Kansas’s “Dust in the Wind” fits in here nicely

Oh yeah - serious driving song! Ranks up there with 'Radar Love' and 'For Those About To Rock" in my mind ;-)
Thanks, brother, glad you enjoyed them! :-)
Music is my universal language and I’m always on the hunt for new frequencies. I resonate with this thread.
Outsiders Au/Ra
Born in the slumber Flora Cash
Age of Man Greta Van Fleet
A few on my playlist ☝️
Thanks for the new ones! Using for my next reading! 🌟
Greta Van Fleet is fantastic! I love their tunes, and their cover of "A change Is Gonna Come" is absolute fire :-)
Thanks for the suggestions, happy you enjoyed these!

Really happy you enjoyed it, Elizabeth. And to grow up with those kind of connections to giants in rock and roll? That must have been fantastic!
Thanks for sharing that, and for the suggestion of new music - appreciate both! :-)
Great pics Stone!
Thanks, Jessica; I wanted to have a little fun, while still keeping it 'real' 😉
You keep it real always!
"I Don't Care Anymore" is a good song to scream out as you're driving. It's good to get out some rage once in awhile.

Oh yes she indeed crushes it. I follow her on IG and have downloaded a healthy amount of her released material. Just an amazing voice.
