Hello, gentle reader. As we lay to rest the shitshow (I mean really, what else can one call it?) that was 2023, let us observe a moment of silence to mourn…
Okay, that’s long enough - now, let us WELCOME 2024!
While I know many see darkness on the horizon - and yes, it is ever-threatening - let me toss you an optimistically giddy (manly giddiness, to be sure, but still ‘giddy’) outlook for the year before us. I genuinely believe there is much for which to be hopeful in the months ahead, if we are only willing to put in the effort.
(That last line is a reminder to the man I see in the mirror each day, that I not allow myself to get bogged down in the negativity.)
One of the reasons for my optimism? The choice that the brass here at Substack made to stand on the side of free speech, and against censorship, gave me more hope for online activities than I have had in years.
We have gotten so used to being marginalized, attacked, and erased (on the most specious of justifications) that it has almost become the expectation; we speak, certain intellectual cabals object, and we disappear. So for the leadership of a growing platform like Substack to actually say ‘Nope, we are going in the direction of Liberty?” It was like a breath of fresh air to a drowning man.
(And yes, I know all about Elon’s proclamations of free-speech absolutism, and his ‘GFYS’ trolling of Disney CEO Bob Igor; theatrics aside, you may want to cast - at minimum - a critical eye on his activities, and maybe reexamine his true intentions. In other words: Judge someone by their actions, and not their words.)
There are many other reasons to have hope, reasons more universal than one brave platform boldly standing against WEF-Sponsored Parasites.
I have been hearing online chatter for the last couple of years that, “People are waking up,” but when faced with the onslaught of algorithmically-curated content on multiple platforms it was difficult to believe. Those platforms, always driving Leftist propaganda, are showing you what THEY want you to see, that you - as a Liberty-loving critical thinker - ever feel as a solitary outsider.
Frustrated and alone.
But when Middle-Initial-M and his merry band of parasites tried - and failed - to force Substack to address a problem that doesn’t actually exist (unless the threshing hordes of alleged ‘Nazis’ just haven’t made it to my page’s shores yet; I have had exactly one account, posting virulently pro-fascist content on one of my articles, and I am fairly certain it was a bot), an unintended consequence manifested. A glorious one.
Folks from diverse backgrounds banded together, in numbers twice as large as those who were on the attack, and said, “No more - we’re done.” As one of those who stood with the speech absolutists it was a great thing of which to be a part, and it provided a sliver of evidence that maybe - just maybe - people actually are ‘waking up.’
I sense a subtle shift in the ether occurring as well. People are seeking out more Natural paths of living, casting aside slavish conveniences and mammon-driven doctrines. They are worn out by endless scrolling on platforms designed to keep you in a state of constant yearning; they are instead putting their phones down, taking stock in the moment, and (gasp!) stepping outside for some sunshine.
It is also occurring on a larger scale. In defiance of UN/WEF demands for open borders and societies, Populist Nationalism is taking root in many nations. Once-reliably pro-Globalist western nations are starting to get push-back from their citizens more passionately than in previous days, and the structure of ‘The Great Reset” is slowly - so very slowly - starting to collapse upon itself.
From what I am seeing? I firmly anticipate that ‘collapse’ will pick up speed in 2024.
Also? We have Substack, which - considering recent events - is huge.
There are many more examples, several of which I plan to highlight here and on Notes in the coming days, weeks, and months. So be of good cheer, my friends - the tide actually is turning, and for once it is not an approaching tsunami threatening to destroy us.
Now, I know we will still have our challenges. M-Boy and his anti-American redcoats are not going away any time soon (they keep threatening to depart, but they never actually leave!), so we will have to remain vigilant in our support of Substack. The MSM is ramping up coverage of the coming elections, which will surely be chock-full of propaganda created to keep you feeling depressed, enraged, and hopeless.
There could very well be mandates and shortages and possibly even arrests coming, because that is what the American government is now. They will continue to allow invaders immigrants’ to flood our borders, to attempt to strip us of fundamental Natural Rights, to do everything they can to keep us in a perpetual state of fear.
The difference between now and then is that the volume of people getting ‘savvy’ is growing. More people are now wiser. Victors of a relentless, four-year long phycological war, they are battle-tested. They know how to say ‘No,’ without apology or regret. They… are… aware.
They… are you! And for a few of you, it has always BEEN ‘you'.
My mantra (after nearly 57 years on this planet, I still don’t cotton to New Year’s ‘resolutions’) for the coming year is simple: Keep the faith, know what you know, and stay frosty.
