I guess when the last of the real writers leaves (people such as yourself, Jeff Childers, Bill Rice , etc.), I'll have all sorts of time back in my day. 😞
These days it’s prudent to have backup plans and contingencies for a variety of reasons. I’ve given you a follow and look forward to your contributions 🥳
The wacky Internet is wacky, EK - never know which direction it is going to travel. All we can do is read the proverbial tea leaves, and plan the best we can LOL
Thanks for following me there - I gotcha back! :-)
I applaud your motion to branch out. You are right. There are some mainstream heavy hitters that dominate this platform and us little guys get lost in the shuffle. Especially since Notes and the rest. I had planned "at some point" to get memes on billboards and all kinds of things. I had a Rumble page, a youtube page and several others, bitchute and it all got to be too much. I urge anyone who likes good writing to follow you there. Well done, sir!
Thank you kindly, Ratio. Appreciate the gracious words.
And yeah, regarding the 'too much'? I have noticed that right now 'online minimalism' appears to be the trend. I have been cutting back on many of the platforms I have used in the past, and am basically down to Substack (although I have REALLY been pulling away from Notes), X (and even with that I am formulating a new plan), and Ko-fi (which, as you know, is just getting off the ground).
All and all... I'm pretty happy with the direction... :-)
I cut way back as well. Practicing detachment. I miss the good ole days of substack circa 2022-23. We didn’t know it was the golden age then. I feel like some deranged grandpa.
I would be SO on-board with starting something new, Renee - unfortunately, my technical knowledge has less depth than the average toddler LOL Once upon a time Substack WAS that alterative, but VC money is doing to it what it has done to EVERY emerging platform... :-\
No, here on substack. I can like comments and I can like notes, but if someone writes an actual post here on substack, I can't like it. I updated the app the other day and now things are broken. 🤷♀️
Sounds like SS is very happy with the MSM oinkers being here now and don't care so much if they lose us peons.
Sadly Bandit, they really, really don't seem to at all. :-\

Oh, even if I ever DO leave (which I have no plans to do), I'll still be posting SOMEWHERE.
You cannot escape my words that easily LOL
😁😄
I’m there for now, bare bones . It’s a back up in place. I think CJ might be out there someplace too.
Thanks for the heads up.
Absolutely, happy to have you there. I'll keep you in the loop on how it is shaking out as a platform :-)
👌👍

Good luck you feral philosopher you 🫡
Thanks, brother 🫡
BTW, I stole that line from a meme that Rat dropped... 😁
What about starting a brand new alternative? Open source blog spot...

I'm going to try to find people who will help us
I noticed a recorded livestream I did is not available. Which sucks as it was an incredible convo.
Oh my goodness, Kelly - sorry to hear that. I know others have had issues with livestreams (and podcasts) as well... :-\
Will have to like this here as I can't like the actual post.
Wait, what? You cannot like a post on Ko-fi?
No, here on substack. I can like comments and I can like notes, but if someone writes an actual post here on substack, I can't like it. I updated the app the other day and now things are broken. 🤷♀️
Seriously?
My goodness, this place is SO broken... :-(
I just updated the app and I can like posts again. I'm actually surprised…
