All great points. I haven't looked at it from the world religion side of things.

Anyone who believes that the elites will leave them alone has not been paying attention.

Those people need to go buy into some more timeshares. Timeshares are one of my tests for self-awareness. Anyone who would purchase a timeshare shouldn't be allowed to make any decisions concerning my life -- in any way.

Those who can be conned into buying a timeshare would also believe that, if they just do what they're told, things will work out for them. They probably think that 15-minute cities sound like a great idea, and that they'll be happier when they own nothing, and have no privacy.

If there's anything that people need to take from the last 3-4 years, it's that the government is NEVER here to help you. The more "help" you take, the more freedom you lose. Rinse and repeat.

It’s a well planned worldwide effort to bring the world to a one-religion singularity. Prophets in the Bible warn about this happening. Here we are!

‘authoritarian Buddhism’ that's an oxymoron. They make the true pious ones appear intolerant and evil.

Umm authoritarian Buddhism??? Put that bug back on that leaf and apologize right now mister or will cane your ass!!! Sorry couldn’t help myself. I know the caining happened in Singapore but still!

😂😂 I know right? Honestly, from what I understand about Buddhism I am still trying to wrap my mind around that one 😁

Well stated, sir. Being left alone is where I’d prefer to be. I sometimes don’t “people” well.

Liberty is the thing worth dying for. I would go down fighting before I would be anyone's slave.

It also seems like what is pushed as diversity with race mixing would give you the opposite of diversity in a number of generations: Homogeny.

It would destroy culture.

During a visit to Sri Lanka I visited temples and shrines. I observed there the kind of authoritarian Buddhism you speak of, with my own eyes. Attending worship were many devotees who were not devoted. Whilst in India I also visited temples and shrines but here I discovered amongst the dirt and squalor of India, the most ardent and sincere spirituality, amongst the poor. "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to go to heaven."

Thanks so much, Elliot - appreciate the 'actually been there' perspective, especially since I was seriously having difficulty wrapping my mind around the notion of 'Authoritarian Buddhism,' based on my knowledge of the practice.

I guess any 'faith' can be converted into 'hard core'...

As far as the quote about the camel and the eye of a needle, it's interesting to note that scholars say that the Hebrew language of the day used the same word to mean yarn or camel. Yarn makes a better analogy and casts the meaning in a different direction. It takes more effort, but you can thread yarn.

I have several times in my life been likened to Geta Garbo, who did not say, "I wish to be alone" but rather, "I wish to be left alone".

Garbo was our icon before we realized we needed one... ;-)

'hidden towers of ivory and blood'... Stone, you do cook up some potent images. A global culture is coming whether we like it or not. The internet is making sure of it. The question is, will it be founded in joy, freedom and mutual respect, or not. I've experienced the disrespect toward rednecks, right here in California one of the most "liberal" states in America, where diversity is praised but not always accepted. Do I let it get me down? Hell no. The snobs are missing out on a lot of fun. My hope for the future is that each culture is able to retain its individuality as it appreciates the richness of diversity in others.

That is exciting... and, to be honest, a little unsettling LOL Definitely looking forward to seeing where this all goes - not sure about the ultimate destination, but the journey should be one helluva ride... ;-)
