TDT: Oregon Counties Looking To Escape The Madness
Also: Japan and whales, vegan pets (seriously), plus more!
But perhaps acknowledging a region’s Natural rights to establish its own status within this ‘Union’ - and streamlining the process to facilitate said-establishment - is exactly the solution we need for our fractured nation.
Welcome to this edition of the Three-Dot Tablet [TDT], the weekly news-digest of The Stone Age.
Here I seek out the headlines others may not be covering (or not covering well), and - with healthy doses of passion and brevity, common sense and occasional humor - discuss them with raw, unfiltered commentary.
Let's get to it…

13th conservative Oregon county approves measure to secede and join ‘Greater Idaho’
New York Post
While the ‘fires of seceding’ from the United States have been smoldering for a while now (with both Texas and California being recent candidates), we oft ignore those who want their local regions to separate from the state in which they feel disenfranchised and marginalized.
Case in point…
Crook County residents passed the measure by a 53% majority Tuesday, making it the 13th county in the state to sign onto the movement known as “Greater Idaho”… “The voters of eastern Oregon have spoken loudly and clearly about their desire to see border talks move forward,” said the Greater Idaho movement’s executive director Matt McCaw.
There have been a few examples of this over the years; portions of northern California has had a movement for decades to establish itself as the ‘State of Jefferson,’ while Weld County in northern Colorado has pursued joining Wyoming.
Historically and constitutionally speaking, changing the above-mentioned Oregon counties to being part of Idaho (or even if they, like Jefferson, wished to establish a new state) is theoretically possible; lest we forget, West Virginia was once part of Virginia. However, the process is so legalistically convoluted? It is as close as something can be to impossible without actually being ‘impossible.’
But perhaps acknowledging a region’s Natural rights to establish its own status within this ‘Union’ - and streamlining the process to facilitate said-establishment - is exactly the solution we need for our fractured nation.
If people know they are empowered to take care of their own, and that they can do so with the support of the Authority ‘above’ them, they organically change their overall attitude toward said-Authority. If they know with confidence they are free to pursue their best interests, they actually feel ‘free’… and will appreciate - and support - the ‘union’ under which they live.
The liberty to act is a powerful thing, after all, and when an Authority respects that natural liberty? Good things manifest.
But can you even begin to imagine the current crop of Schwab-slobbering, faux-aristocrats we have in DC understanding such a concept? Yeah, me neither, but since my goal is to present solutions to the problems about which I complain?
Well, this is one possible solution…

Japan whaler operator says it has no plan to hunt in Antarctic
Reuters
So where is the line between ‘respecting culture’ and ‘vile practices’… and how thin is that line? Japan is once again testing it, with the building of a massive ship for the purpose of expanding its whaling traditions.
Yes, that means hunting and killing and consuming whales…
Japan, which says eating whale meat is part of its culture, long campaigned without success for the International Whaling Commission to allow commercial whaling. The island nation withdrew from the international body in 2019 and resumed commercial whaling in its territorial waters and the exclusive economic zone.
I admit that I personally find the practice repugnant; I would feel the same way about people hunting and eating dogs and cats, due to my cultural connections to them AND the intelligences they possess. Therefore whales should be off-limits, right?
But what about pigs? Many studies suggest they are even more intelligent - and potentially better pet companions - than dogs, and my backside would be burnt up and gone straight to hell before I’d give up my bacon.
What about cows? Hindus have an obvious reverence for them, whereas I only revere them with mouth-watering anticipation. And - to go back to pigs for a moment - pork is also verboten by Muslims and Jews due to religious traditions, yet - again - I say stay away from my bacon.
And ham… ham is good, too.
So again: Where do we draw the line? I think we have to acknowledge that if we are going to expect our own culinary traditions to be respected, we must do the same for others… even if we find them reprehensible. So being conservation efforts are being honored - and from everything I have read, Japan is doing just that - we need to just buck-up and mind our own business.
Now that I think about it? That is a mantra which actually could - and should - be applied to pretty much everything: Mind our own business…

Is Vegan Food Really Good For Your Dog? Experts Reveal The Truth
Science Alert
No. The answer is ‘No’…
Two years ago, a study was published that claimed nutritionally sound vegan diets are "the healthiest and least hazardous dietary choice for dogs". We recently published a study challenging those findings. Based on our analysis of the data the original study used, we argue the association between diet and dog health (or more accurately, the owner's opinion of their dog's health) is minimal at best.
Well, thank goodness we brought in ‘experts.’
Look, I do not need an overpriced education, nor peer-approved credentials, to ascertain this - it is common friggin’ sense. Canines have canines for a reason, after all, and it is not so they can rip into thick-skinned tomatoes.
They. Eat. Meat.
When one projects their human ‘standards’ onto their animal companions… something is wrong. I mean really, what is next for our puppy-pals - studs which identify as bitches, because their ‘owner’ thinks that is the case?
I say this not to be unkind, but out of genuine concern: We have a mental-illness problem in this country, and instead of celebrating the illness whilst validating those who are suffering? We need to boldly address the problem - for their long-term well-being, and for our own…

Dwyane Wade to Launch Online Community Supporting Transgender Children
Breitbart
What is it with people targeting children online? I do not understand what makes them think that what they are doing is somehow okay, but parents (and those who protect children) are getting fed up…
Dwyane Wade, former shooting guard for the Miami Heat and NBA Hall of Famer, announced this week that he will launch Translatable, a new online community that supports transgender children.
And Wade is no small-fry celebrity, either. While you may not have heard of him (I hadn’t), as mentioned above he is an NBA Hall-Of-Famer… so I guarantee there are millions of individuals who do know who he is. As such, him attaching his name to something like this is a fairly big deal.
It is also sickening. I do not care what your ‘angle’ is - sickening.
Before moving forward let me address the ‘transgender’ aspect of this, for I do not wish to be misunderstood: I have made it clear that if you are an adult and believe you were ‘assigned’ the wrong gender at birth… you do you. I support your right to live however you wish, so being you leave the children alone.
And that goes for everything. I don’t care if you are a pastor seeking converts or a teacher ‘educating’ others on your cultural perspectives, an ‘influencer’ wishing to grow your audience or a person offering ‘support’ to those who are struggling with gender-based issues.
I do not care. If you are an adult, and you are online? Leave. The. Children. Alone.
Period. Full stop. The end…
And Finally…
I want to take a moment to discuss a few things regarding what is happening behind the scenes here at the The Stone Age; indulge me for a moment, if you will.
Like many of you, I have a lot going on right now. There are multiple stand-alone articles and short-stories in the hopper for you all here, two different book projects (one of which regular readers are aware) I am itching to get completed, and off-Substack responsibilities which need to be addressed. Then, there are the life things we all experience - job, family and friends, et cetera.
As I said, a lot.
As such, I am placing the TDT (and only the TDT) on hiatus; my plan is to begin posting it anew starting the weekend of July 13. Since many ‘news magazine’ styled ‘programs’ shut down for the entire summer, I figured a month-and-a-half away isn’t that bad.
Besides, I myself am not going anywhere. As mentioned above, I have so much I want to get posted to The Stone Age, and am looking forward to getting those items completed and in front of your eyes. I am also planning to (finally) launch the ‘Threads’ feature here - we’ll give it a test run over the next month or so, and see how it plays out.
So while the TDT itself may be temporarily away, I have many plans for the upcoming seven weeks - I hope you enjoy the ride…
And that is all for this edition of the Three-Dot Tablet. Have a great week ahead, and as always… stay frosty!

Well that was packed full of things to think about....but I'm telling you my dog won't touch a sweet potato and chased a squirrel up a tree for a snack today, sorry squirrel. Love how the experts come in to finally tell everyone what they already know. Let the dogs be dogs. Let the children be children. Let the experts "think" they know something, anything? Let the delusional be delusional. And so it is.
The people who believe their pets are gay are already here unfortunately.
