But we did indeed used to be a semi-populist, semi-politically decentralized, semi-economically decentralized, semi-culturally decentralized, and semi scientifically decentralized republic with high imperfect yet still meaningfully democratic governance structures based around our former, and completely different than today’s parties, decentralized and publicly accessible Democratic and Republican parties of old. So while we may not have been a democracy we were still none the less much more democratic
I’ve never in my life seen such brutal attacks on the constitution from office holders sworn to uphold said document, many of whom have law degrees, along with the press, whose sole existence is provided for by the first amendment.
Our constitutional republic is suffering from a thousand cuts, and still hanging on, yet perhaps we are at that “keep it if you can” point in history.
Truth! Boiling inside about this atrocity. What to do about it? Pray and hold the knowing in your very essence. Walk tall and hold the line. I always vote always and for me its local. I vote for people I know are going to take care services, keep the snow plowed. the traffic lights working. where Ilive tons of problems and issues they have to solve, continually. so we need pragmatic leaders. I cant stand all that religious brew ha ha take back the place from the usurpers. for me everyone who lives lives here, shares in there responsibility.
